Our journey began in 2016 as a supply chain unit within the coconut industry value chain. Over the years, we navigated various challenges, steadily expanding our operations and refining our expertise in coir-based growing solutions. Our dedication and resilience led to the incorporation of Tropicanut (Pvt) Ltd in August 2022, marking a significant milestone in our growth as a leading manufacturer of premium soilless coir substrates in Sri Lanka.

What is "Podiya"?

The term "Podiya" originates from a playful tongue twister of the Sinhala word "Pol Gediya" which means coconut evolving through speech into "Gel Podiya" and finally becoming "Podiya."

We meticulously monitor and maintain the pH level (5.5–6.5), EC level, fiber content, fine dust, and sand percentage to ensure optimal growing conditions. Our substrates are engineered to support a wide range of crops, enhancing plant propagation and high-yield cultivation.
